As published in a preview article by American music media outlet Billboard on the 30th, 'Arirang' has achieved the top spot on the 'Billboard 200' main album chart (dated April 4). The album entered the chart with 641,000 album units, marking the highest weekly performance for a group album since unit tracking began in December 2014. Of these, 532,000 units were attributed to pure album sales, including both physical and digital purchases, setting a new record for the highest weekly group album sales in over a decade.
The album has also performed strongly on global music platforms. BTS dominated the weekly charts on the global audio and music streaming service Spotify during the tracking period from March 20 to 26, leading the 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' global charts. The title track 'SWIM' achieved the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart, and all 14 tracks from the album were placed within the top 30.
The title track 'SWIM' held the top spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' chart for 9 consecutive days (March 20-28) and 7 days (March 23-29), respectively. Furthermore, every track from the album appeared on the most recent chart rankings of both platforms. Even ten days after the album's release, all tracks continue to enjoy significant popularity, indicating strong support from global music fans.
In addition, BTS is scheduled to conduct the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. They are also planning stadium performances in South America in October, visiting countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. All 46 performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out ahead of time, demonstrating considerable demand for tickets.
